How Long Does It Take To Complete Dota 2 Crownfall Event 2024? https://www.talkesport.com/guides/how-long-does-it-take-to-complete-dota-2-crownfall-event-2024/ Tue, 26 Nov 2024 15:41:23 +0000 https://www.talkesport.com/?p=96420 The epic Dota 2 Crownfall event concludes in January 2025! ]]>
With the final act of the Dota 2 Crownfall event being released a few weeks ago, fans of the MOBA from throughout the globe have tuned into the title to check out the conclusion of Shen and Skywrath’s saga.

Valve has confirmed that the Crownfall event, which kicked off in April 2024, will come to an end in January 2024, giving players ample opportunity to grind out all their favorite rewards from the event.

However, what if you missed out on the Crownfall event? Do you still have enough time to complete all of the Crownfall Act before the event is taken off the game? Let’s find out.

Can You Still Complete All Acts in Crownfall Dota 2 Event?

Candle Token Dota 2 Crownfall Event

If you started the Crownfall event when it came out in April 2024, you’d have nearly ten months to complete the entirety of the event. With less than two months remaining before the conclusion of Crownfall, is it still possible to finish it for a casual player?

Luckily, for most players, the answer is yes. You can finish all Acts of Crownfall before the Dota 2 event comes to an end in January 2024.

It’s not gonna be easy, though. You’ll require plenty of grinding to finish the event in this short span of time.

The Crownfall event follows a similar structure to the Cavern Crawl minigames from previous  Battle Passes. Players have to win with various Dota 2 heroes to earn tokens that enable them to clear out the chambers in the Crownfall map.

If you can consistently grind out Turbo or All Pick games over the next few weeks, you should be able to earn enough tokens to complete all the Acts of Crownfall.

Valve has shipped out a new update to Dota 2 on November 12th, and the patch aims to curb the dominance of Kez in pubs as his win rates were surging across all brackets in the game.

Despite having a unique kit filled with high burst damage and utility, Kez suffered from an extremely low win rate at the time of its release, prompting Valve to issue multiple buffs to the hero within a day of his introduction to the Dota 2 roster.

Shortly afterward, Kez became an extremely strong pick in pubs, with his win rate nearing 50% despite the hero still having no facets.

In the latest Dota 2 update, the devs have deployed some much-needed adjustments to Kez by nerfling his kit and reducing his overall damage output.

Only a day has passed since the addition of Kez to Dota 2, and the hero has already received some significant buffs that are certain to help boost his win rate in the current meta.

Despite the hero possessing a strong kit filled with interesting abilities alongside two deadly ultimates, he seemed rather underwhelming and suffered from awful win rates across all skill brackets.

As a result, Valve has deployed a patch that aims to buff certain aspects of the new Dota 2 hero to make him a viable pick in the ongoing meta.

Dota 2 November 8th Update Introduces New Hero Kez

Dota 2 Kez

Without further ado, let’s check out all the abilities of the new hero Kez, as confirmed by Valve:

AbilityExplanation
Switch DisciplineKez’s arsenal includes the versatile Kazurai Katana and the potent Shodo Sai. By switching between these weapons, he gains access to distinct attack patterns and special abilities. As his hero level rises, the cooldown time for these weapon-specific actions decreases.
Echo Slash
(Katana)
Kez performs a swift forward dash, slicing through enemies with his katana. This attack deals a percentage of his attack damage and slows affected targets. After a short delay, Kez unleashes a follow-up strike on the same location, dealing significant bonus damage to enemy heroes.
Grappling Claw
(Katana)
Kez launches himself towards a designated target unit or tree using a grappling hook. The target is immobilized and slowed during the hook’s trajectory. Once Kez lands, he immediately strikes with a powerful attack that restores his health equal to the damage dealt.
Kazurai Katana
(Katana)
Kez launches himself towards a designated target unit or tree using a grappling hook. The target is immobilized and slowed during the hook’s trajectory. Once Kez lands, he immediately strikes with a powerful attack that restores his health equal to the damage dealt.
Raptor Dance
(Katana)
Kez enters a one-second channeling phase, during which he becomes immune to any negative effects and gains complete protection against magic damage. If the channel is not interrupted, he performs a wide-ranging slash attack that deals damage proportional to the target’s maximum health. As a reward for completing the channel, Kez is healed for a percentage of the damage dealt and all harmful effects are removed from him.
Falcon Rush
(Sai)
Kez rushes towards enemy targets, delivering a flurry of secondary attacks that echo and bounce off nearby enemies. During this rush, he can phase through obstacles, allowing him to maneuver through the battlefield with ease. Additionally, his attack speed is less affected by traditional attack speed items, enabling him to maintain a high attack rate regardless of itemization.
Talon Toss
(Sai)
Kez launches a Sai at a designated target. The Sai explodes upon impact, dealing significant damage to enemies in the vicinity and silencing them, preventing them from using abilities.
Shodo Sai
(Sai)
Kez’s attacks and abilities with the Sai have a chance to mark enemies. Marked enemies are slowed, and the next time Kez attacks a marked target, the attack will always land and stun the enemy, dealing critical damage.
Kez can activate a defensive stance, disarming himself and locking his facing. For two seconds, he can parry attacks and negate their effects. Successful parries stun and mark the attacker.
Raven’s Veil
(Sai)
Kez unleashes a wave of smoke that envelops nearby enemies, marking them with a Sai Mark that increases their chance to parry attacks. The smoke also briefly obscures their vision. Kez himself becomes cloaked in the smoke, gaining increased movement speed and invisibility until he chooses to attack or cast a spell.

Nouns Esports, one of the biggest names in the North American Dota 2 scene, has officially announced its departure from the competitive scene of the MOBA, marking the end of an era.

The organization confirmed the news via a post on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we announce we will be stepping back from Dota 2,” Nouns said in a statement. “The last two and a half years have been an incredible journey, together we established our legacy of representing North America on the biggest stages in Dota 2.”

While they didn’t specify the exact reason for the team’s disbandment, financial challenges seemed to be a contributing factor.

“Dota 2 is as demanding as it is rewarding, both competitively and commercially,” the statement reads.

Following Nouns’ exit from Dota 2, its roster—featuring Yuma “Yuma” Langlet, Philipp “Copy” Bühler, Nico “Gunnar” Lopez, Rodrigo “Lelis” Santos, and Tal “Fly” Aizik—will now be looking for other teams as free agents.

Despite their departure, Nouns have left their options open for a potential return to Dota 2 in the future, as evident from the announcement itself.

“Our love for Dota remains strong, and with the right partner, we are open to a future return to the scene, aiming once more to be North America’s finest.” the org stated.

New Arcade Game Mode Lets You Play Deadlock in Dota 2 https://www.talkesport.com/news/dota2/deadlock-experimental/ https://www.talkesport.com/news/dota2/deadlock-experimental/#respond Thu, 24 Oct 2024 15:04:15 +0000 https://www.talkesport.com/?p=94541 Tired of the classic Dota 2 grind? Spice things up with Deadlock Experemental! This Dota 2 Arcade mode lets you play Deadlock characters in a third-person shooter experience, battling against traditional Dota 2 heroes.

The post New Arcade Game Mode Lets You Play Deadlock in Dota 2 appeared first on TalkEsport.

One of the key features that sets Dota 2 apart from other popular MOBAs, like League of Legends, is its community workshop. Using the workshop, individual map creators from throughout the world come up with unique mods that can provide a refreshing change of pace from the intense grind of ranked Dota 2.

In fact, it was the Dota 2 community workshop that gave rise to game modes like ‘Auto Chess’ and ‘Overthrow’, with the former inspiring several other popular games—some not exactly hiding their ‘inspiration’—to develop their own versions of it.

Recently, a new game mode has been taking over the Arcade section of Dota 2, and for good reason. The community map in question, called ‘Deadlock Experemental’, enables players to enjoy Deadlock, the newest Valve title and a unique take on the ‘hero shooter’ genre, in Dota 2.

‘Deadlock Experemental’ Lets You Experience Deadlock vs Dota 2

‘Deadlock Experemental’ not only lets you play Deadlock in Dota 2, but it also lets you battle out the Deadlock characters against Dota 2 heroes with your friends.

So, how does it work?

The map is split into two halves, the ‘Deadlock’ half and the ‘Dota 2’ half. The team that starts in the former half picks characters from Deadlock and plays the entire match in a third-person perspective similar to the hero shooter itself. The other team plays a regular game of Dota 2 but against Deadlock heroes.

The team using Deadlock characters has access to the finer mechanics of the game like dashing, melee attacks, and precise aiming with their crosshairs to take down enemies. On top of that, they have to purchase items from the Deadlock shop instead of the Dota 2 shop, leading to some interesting interactions.

Fans can check out the gameplay footage of Deadlock vs Dota 2 below:

How To Play ‘Deadlock Experemental’ in Dota 2

As mentioned earlier, ‘Deadlock Experemental’ isn’t an official game mode by Valve, but a community map. Here’s how you can access it:

  • Visit the ‘Deadlock Experemental’ Workshop page on Steam.
  • Subscribe to the community map.
  • Wait for the map to download,
  • Launch Dota 2.
  • Head to the ‘Arcade’ section.
  • Press ‘Play Deadlock Experemental’.
